A biennial art exhibit, Our Art is Showing, includes works, this time on windows, created by friends and staff of The Art Experience.
The "window show" was an idea inspired by one of our Artists in Residence, Rachael Kollman, who had the idea to create her own window after seeing one in the studio. TAE had planned the show to be in person in March of 2020, but the universe had other plans.
Staff saw windows originally as metaphors of transition, the line between light and dark, inside and outside, and after having lived through sheltering in place orders, windows took on a new layer of meaning of hope, change, and the unknown.
Please enjoy our exhibit; it allows one to both re-imagine the role of an object usually seen as utilitarian in function, and celebrate what has become a physical representation, virtually presented, of resilience of the creative spirit, and The Art Experience itself.
We will host a virtual Afterglow conversation with the artists on June 17. Click the button below to join us!

This piece was donated to the studio by a long time friend and former Staff Artist of The Art Experience. Created in the Art Nouveau style, this window depicts the flower of the movement, the Iris. The window represents looking out into another world, and the power of creating one, especially when you aren't fond of the view you have.
Find out more about Kathy at her website.
If sold, proceeds will go to the studio.
